The elections to the European Parliament in June 2024 will be their first for many young people. Why are they important? What is the European Parliament, what does it decide on and what can it influence? You will learn all this in our international project YOUTH2EU, which involves young people from Poland, the Czech Republic, Spain, Italy and Greece.
As part of the project, the participants will create and implement a campaign on social networks with the aim of increasing the awareness and interest of their peers in European institutions and participation in the elections to the European Parliament.
The project consists of three international face-to-face meetings (in the Czech Republic, Spain and Greece), continuous cooperation in project teams at national levels and online internationally, and further local events for young people.
Dates of international meetings:
- 27. 11.–1. 12. 2023 in the Czech Republic (Prague);
- 29. 1.–2. 2. 2023 in Spain (Seville);
- 4.–8. 3. 2023 in Greece (Patras).
Thanks to the project, young people will learn why they should be interested in the institutions of the European Union and participate in the elections to the European Parliament, how to create content (not only) for social networks (videos, graphics, posters…), how to become "digital leaders" and they will then use the created content in a campaign on social networks and at the local level. The project is intended for young people-first-time voters to the European Parliament (age 18–22) and youth workers (no age limit).
The purpose of the project is to support young people in engaging in democratic processes in society. The purpose of the project is not to promote and support specific political parties and movements.
The project is implemented with the support of the Erasmus+ programme of the European Union. The project is organized by the organizations Centrum Edukacji i Badan Społecznych (Poland), Fondazione Toscana Sostenibile (Italy), Achaiko Instituto Ekpedefsis Enilikon (Greece), the Czech Council for Children and Youth (Czech Republic) and the Center of Local Actions and Social Heritage (Spain).
